In this section we have added letters that have been
sent to our county officials.
Dear Mr. Asadullah and Councilmembers;
I am one of the Gaithersburg residents opposed to the widening of Longdraft Rd.
for reasons of safety, health and aesthetics. Daily I walk my small dog on the
sidewalk next to the park on Longdraft Rd. for exercise. My husband and I chose
the lot on Hartley Place on which to build our house because it was right next
to Seneca State Park. We felt so fortunate to find a bucolic location so near the citys' many conveniences.
Now it seems there is a plan to destroy a great deal of what made this
neighborhood a desirable place to live. It would not be the same with a four
lane highway running so close to our homes and in the middle of the park!
Thank you for whatever help you can give the residents in this crises that
threatens the quiet peacefulness that we have enjoyed. And that would change
the character of the place we call home!
